Microphone information:
Sm58 - Kick
Sm57 - Snare
MXL 990 - Floor tom-side overhead.
MXL 606 - Snare-side overhead.

The mixing desk is an Allen & Heath, 'Mixwizard' 16 channel thingy. I just call it "Big Blue".

I mic'd up the drum kit and plugged all 4 microphones into the mixing desk, which ran (in mono) into a single track on the cassette recorder.

I tweaked the levels and EQs of each channel until the live kit sounded good through headphones, this included setting the level/amount/tone of the gated reverb pedal.
I recorded little sections and listened back to them to determine extra little tweaks that would improve the overall drum mix.

Once it was all set up and I was happy with the sound, I recorded the drum take.
