Sadden to hear of the passing of a true innovator & Jazz legend.
Used to drive my ex bonkers playing his music, she thought it was just a cacophony of noise, it certainly requires an acquired taste in Jazz.
The cut is from his 1978 album The Mad Hatter, which hit number 1 on the B&S Jazz charts with a bullet and stayed there for months.
Not knowing anything about Chick Corea at the time, I asked the record shop to play the record which they did over the shop speakers, it was so embarrassing, seemed like an lot of noise, told them to take it off and walked out, obviously to young to appreciate it. .
About 6 years later I picked up a copy of the album and was overawed, which led me to checking out his back catalogue.
Gutted to hear of his demise thank you for your music and great memories, Rest in Peace
