There are hundreds or even thousands of coffins found hanging in caves! But what exactly happened here? Trust me, alright? It’s not as scary as these TikToks make it seem. These are the Sagada Hanging Coffins, located in the mountainous Cordillera region of the Philippines. This practice, done by indigenous Igorots, shows their deep respect for nature and ancestors. They believe that placing the deceased in hanging coffins high above the ground brings them closer to their ancestors' spirits and to heaven. The coffins are placed in natural caves, attached to rock formations using ropes or stakes. Because this may appear highly unusual to many people, it has become a popular tourist attraction.
