There are a few Groupers living inside U.S.A.T. Liberty wreck, in Tulamben (Bali, Indonesia), though they're hard to spot during day dives. Today, we were lucky to find so many, in different species, swimming feely in the outside. As they were often chasing each other, we thought it was mating season.
This is the second dive, testing iPhone 11 Pro video abilities, inside #Divevolk Sea Touch Pro 3 cellphone housing.
The action was filmed with Black Magic Pocket Cinema 6K, and a pair of Divepro Vision Pro +
Liberty wreck is quite shallow, from 6 to 27 metres, and the visibility was excellent, between 20 to 25 metres.
iPhone footage was captured in 4k, 60 fps, either vertical or horizontal, and cropped / downsized, to fit.
What we liked:
- Sharpness and detail.
- Autofocus
- Awesome looking, for direct posting on social media.
What we didn't like (using Apple's original filming app):
- Not enough contrast.
- Low bit rate / high compression creates banding and artefacts on post-processing.
- Colour accuracy / auto-white balance (makes using red filters nearly impossible).
