New standard tuning (NST) - Alternate Guitar Tuning in Fifth - Belcat Hot Rail Pickups
I got the idea of this new tuning by playing the mandolin. It is different from Robert Fripp's tuning. I have all my strings in fifth as oppose to have the last string tuned a 3rd higher.

It offers great possibilities. Playing the guitar with that tuning renders different outcomes. Relations between strings being different intervals are also different. This tuning plays naturally in arpeggios. Therefore, the lines are different than conventional tuning.

You cannot play regular guitar music with it. The music played on this instrument must be composed for it.
