Spotify Free comes to Tesla in OTA update 2024.38.2 (but with adverts)

At the beginning of October 2024, Tesla announced that it was ending free Spotify in their cars from 1st December 2024. A free in car only Spotify account has always been included with Tesla's Premium Connectivity subscription. Since this announcement that this was to end, if you wanted to continue to use Spotify in your Tesla, you would have to pay for a Spotify subscription and sign into your account within the car. This is the same to use any of the other streaming apps in the car such as YouTube music, Apple Music, Tidal, Audible and more.
However, at the end of October, Tesla rolled out a new over the air update, version 2024.38.2. Included in this update was Spotify Free. This allows you to use a Spotify Free account in your Tesla. So free Spotify has effectively returned, but this time with adverts.
In this video I explain what's happened and look at what other changes were made in update 2024.38.2. This update was quickly superseded by 2024.38.4 and then 2024.38.6 which fixed minor bugs.
