Former Social Security Commissioner Martin O’Malley is warning that DOGE’s chaos and destruction of the Social Security Administration’s leadership and even their offices could end up causing the program to miss payments for the first time in their history. On top of that possibility, DOGE’s decision to cut the leases of at least 45 local Social Security offices could prevent recipients from having an easy way to get in touch with officials about any problems. This is a disaster in waiting, as Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains.

Social Security has existed for 89 years and for 89 years, social Security has not missed a payment throughout, throughout the entire time. This vital government program that has helped millions and millions of people actually be able to retire and not descend into poverty 89 years, never missed a payment. And according to the former administrator of it, Martin O'Malley, those days are probably over because the chaos and the malfunctions that that organization has seen in just the last month and a half from the Department of Government Efficiency have crippled it so badly that for the first time in its existence, social security could miss payments, which means the elderly citizens who rely on this as their only source of income. And yes, there are millions who do, they may have to go one, two, maybe three months without any payment at all. O'Malley said quote, ultimately, you're going to see the system collapse and an interruption of benefits. I believe you will see that within the next 30 to 90 days, people should start saving now.

And he is not saying that, you know, people should start saving to be condescending. It's a warning. So what has Doge done that is so bad for Social Security that of course there are now predictions, not just from O'Malley, that they could actually start missing some payments. First and foremost is that you've got these so-called tech geniuses, right? These little Wonder kids that have basically crippled the, uh, data soft software, uh, for the agency. There've been blackouts. There's been bugs. There's been times where they're unable to access the systems because whatever they've done to it has broken it. And since the whole system is automated, if you don't have software running properly to run it, you don't print the checks and send them out. You don't make the direct deposits. So that is of course, the number one big concern. Number two, you fired a bunch of the people, a lot of the people in charge of these things, making sure the payments go out on time, that they get to where they're going, that the, you know, people who say, Hey, maybe I have a different bank account. I need to call you and give you that information. Nobody's there to answer the phone. That's number two. Number three is doer's decision to eliminate 45 Social Security field offices across the country. 45 local social security offices,

Where you can go down and you apply in person. You do all that. If you have issues with it, you can go to the local office. 45 of those across 50 states are shutting down. And it's not just, Hey, there's only like 10 people in this town. Let's close that one. No, we're talking about busy metropolitan areas that see constant foot traffic in and out of their doors. Shut down by these little knit wits that Elon Musk has put in charge. They are crippling this system, and it's not an accident. They're doing it because Elon Musk believes that social security is the biggest Ponzi scheme in the planet. That's when he called it on Joe Rogan last Friday. He hates it and he wants it gone. And he is doing everything in his power, which he shouldn't have at all to destroy it. Republicans have wanted this for years, all the way back through the Bush administration. W they wanted to kill it 'cause they wanna privatize it so they can get their hands on some of that cash through their stocks and they're getting closer to doing it. It's not an accident. What is happening to these government programs. It may look like incompetence, it looks like stupidity, but I can promise you this is what they wanted. And unfortunately it looks like they're gonna get it.
