The Coasters are a rock and roll group who began in California in the late 50’s. Leiber & Stoller wrote several songs for them. They inspired many artists and rock & roll groups in the 60‘s and 70’s, among whom were Elvis Presley, The Grateful Dead and The Monkees - even the Beatles at their debut had several Coasters’ songs in their early repertoire. “Charlie Brown” and “Yaketi Yak” are two of their biggest hits, famous for their lighthearted and optimistic lyrics!
