Rachel will be bringing the Standing In This Place project to the Artcore 'Knit and Knitter' drop in sessions in the cafe where the public will be invited to enjoy a cuppa whilst embellishing calico framed in embroidery hoops with the names of historic women connected to the story of cotton.
You will be invited to use embroidery and stitching techniques to stitch and Speak Her Name on the cotton fabric. Rachel will be bringing along dozens of hand woven braids made by women from across the Midlands that you can use in your work.
