Today I share my predictions and desires for watches in 2023 and 2024. To get a better understanding of what I believe will be the hottest trends in the next two years, I recap the biggest styles and most influential releases in recent years, from the trendsetting Patek Nautilus in unusual colors, and the fast-approaching 60th anniversary of the Rolex Daytona, to long overdue variations of the Rolex Explorer, another possible Omega Seamaster X Swatch collaboration that will undoubtedly ruffle a few feathers, and the forgotten side of Tudor. On the luxury end, I discuss why Keanu Reeves might be at the crest of a new wave of unique watch wearing amongst celebrities, influencers, and watch enthusiasts. Meanwhile, on the more affordable level, with Seiko moving in a more upscale direction, I share why I think Citizen will be the new go-to option for affordable divers, as well as why they stand the best chance of bringing the most innovative and interesting new releases to the watch market. I also share my thoughts on how the Christopher Ward Bel Canto will probably have the most influence in making other brands attempt more daring and interesting watches in the near future. But I don't only reflect on the watches and brands themselves—I also share my expectations and hopes for how watches are discussed and shared on social media including YouTube, Instagram, and more.
