Elvis called Fats Domino "the real King of Rock’n’Roll”, and called him "Mr Blueberry Hill".
Fats Domino scored 61 Billboard R&B Top-40 hits, with 37 crossovers in the ‘50s and early ‘60s. His first R&B hit, The Fat Man in 1950, is a contender for the “first rock’n’roll record”. Ain’t It a Shame in '55, his 14th R&B hit, spent 11 weeks at #1 and gave him his first cross-over hit.
