This is a great way to get solid metal into a tight space without using force. This process is called shrink fitting. To do this, we cool the metal using liquid nitrogen until it's really cold. When it gets cold, the metal shrinks. In this state, the metal is easier to insert into other components that are very precise in size. Once the temperature goes back to normal, the metal expands and locks tightly in place. This technique is used a lot in mechanical engineering to join parts really precisely.
