This is the Nobels DEL-mini – a new €99 stereo multi-delay pedal with tap tempo from the ODR-1 overdrive legends themselves!

And the full lowdown at the Nobels site:

If your memory goes back far enough – or your googling skills do – you’ll know that Nobels have dabbled in delay before, with the quirky DD-800 in the 1990s.

Now they’re back at it with the DEL-mini, a tiny and smart looking pedal that visually is the blue brother of the (also new) ODR-mini 2 overdrive. Green for overdrive, blue for delay… it’s just the way!

The DEL-mini packs plenty into its small enclosure. You get three classic delay modes – Tape, Analog and Digital – and Time, Feedback and Mix knobs to control your repeats. There’s only one footswitch, but hold it down for two seconds and it switches to tap tempo mode. You also have switches to choose between true and buffered bypass (in buffered modes you get delay trails) and Mono and Stereo modes.

Quite a lot for your €99, then, but how good does the DEL-mini sound? That’s what we’re about to find out! In this video, I try the DEL-mini in as many different musical styles and settings as I can to see just how good and versatile it really is.

We'll try everything from subtle slap back delay sounds for country, rock and blues to more ambient indie and alternative rock tones, Edge-esque U2-inspired stadium rock sounds, thickeners for distorted guitar, and I even hook the DEL-mini up to my TC Electronic Hall Of Fame reverb pedal for some proper ambient (and stereo!) walls of sound! I’ll also run a loop where we really get to twist the knobs and test out the extremes to which you can get the pedal to go.

Let me know your thoughts on the DEL-mini in the comments!

My setup was as follows: I ran my ToneX One pedal into the DEL-mini. That went in stereo into my TC Electronic Hall Of Fame reverb, which then went directly into two channels simultaneously on my Focusrite Scarlett 2i4, which in turn went into Logic Pro X. That’s it. No post-processing on the sounds was done. Oh, and I used my Boss RC-10R to record and play the loop. Here’s some links to those bits of gear:
