Why is the Isle of Man TT considered the most dangerous race in the world? Unlike modern circuit racing, the Isle of Man TT or Tourist Trophy is held on a closed public road. Riders travel at speeds in excess of 300km/h on a 60km course, navigating sharp bends, climbs, descents and narrow roads through villages and houses. With no safety areas like on professional circuits, a small mistake can be fatal. More than 250 people have died at the event since it was first held in 1907. Despite this, the Isle of Man TT remains a legendary race that tests the courage and skill of true racers.
