🔴A few Cook Islands BTS highlights were:
👉 Relaxing! A few of you have asked if we have any time to stop and reflect on the past 194 countries we've visited. And we got to do a little bit of that in Cook Islands. We stayed in an AirBnB on the beach and had little WIFI and no plans. So we got to go for walks and just hang out together thinking through some of our fav memories! So thankful for every moment. ❤️
👉 Fighting off the ants. 😡 When we weren't relaxing, we were fighting the ants!!! Somehow our backpacks became infested with hundreds of ants! They weren't even going after any food, just decided to make our clothes and bags their new home for some reason. So we spent all afternoon trying to shake out every piece of clothing we owned to de-ant our bags. 😅
👉 Burger runs. 🍔🥳 A 15 minute walk down the beach was a local burger shack and we were probably just hungry, but compared to our instant ramen that we brought they were SOOOO GOOD!
👉 Island cruisin'. Cook Islands has some of the prettiest beaches in the world. We were staying on the island called Aitutaki and took a day tour to see some of the more remote, beautiful islands.
👉 Finding a GoPro. On our daily beach stroll, Hud found a GoPro washed up on the beach! We looked at the footage to find out who it belonged to (not too hard on an island of 2,000 people.) We managed to find 1 second of the guy's face and took a pic. We gave the GoPro to our AirBnB owner with the guy's photo. So I hope the GoPro makes its way back to him! 😁
❤️ Thanks so much for everyone following our journey! Next country is #196 Niue!!
