Tarren's eyes struggled open as he awoke. Snow fell from the sky as it did the day before and endless days before that. His expedition to Dimension 3482 had yet to reveal its purpose, yet he knew this limitlessly frozen world could hold benefits for the rest of humanity, making his work here paramount. Tarren missed his family more than anything. And with no way to contact them across dimensional plains, he relied solely on a collection of lovingly curated video messages and recorded memories stored on a personal tablet. On any normal day he would buckle down and begin his research, but this day was different. This day was Christmas. A day for rest, joy and celebration. He turned in his covers and reached to grab the tablet from his bedside table. Cycling through a list of videos, he picked one of his favourites, and with tears in his eyes, pressed play.
