🎧 Subscribe: ...Son Kite is a Swedish psytrance or Goa project. The masterminds are Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus Henriksson, who founded the duo in 1996. In addition to their work as Son Kite, the two also realize other musical ideas in their high-hat studio in Malmö, Sweden, including in their projects Minilogue, Trimatic and Qlap (the latter together with Filip Mårdberg & Fredrik Gilenholt from Ticon).
Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus Henriksson come from different musical backgrounds. While Mullaert received classical music training by taking organ, piano and violin lessons and trying out various other instruments, Henriksson found his true vocation in the techno parties of the 90s through the music of Kraftwerk and Human League. He showed talent as a DJ at various parties and quickly became one of the better known of his guild in southern Sweden. The two met at one of these parties and decided to combine Sebastian's musical knowledge and vision with Marcus' DJ skills and experience from the music scene. This is how they started Son Kite in 1996.
