West Coast GEM. Hal Davis and Brenda Holloway, a dynamic duo who later found success working with Motown. Hal recruited Brenda as Motown’s very first West Coast artist. She had the looks, the voice - EVERYTHING. Unfortunately poor promotion and lack of exposure from the company held her back. I strongly feel she could have been bigger than any of the other female Motown stars. Her powerful voice shines through on this beautifully written song that unfortunately is seldom heard today.
