On its second testimony to cosmicist perspectives, German experimental project Last Days of Burden delivers one more dive into eerie and apocalyptic
soundscapes, drawing inspiration from various realms of music such as ritual ambient, post-industrial, drone, and kosmische musik. Consisting of three prolonged meditations, this EP aims to send the listener on a pilgrimage as dark as psychedelic, provoking internal processes of recognition and reflection whilst descending from noise walls to well-ordered structures and melody. The title «Mene Mene Tekele Upharsin» refers to the writing on the wall from the Book of Daniel and constitutes a critical side note to various eschatological conceptions and linear perceptions of time and history.
