Dear Friends,

Thanks so much for your continued prayers. This week as we filmed some videos for the conference and started recording several of the Sing! Global Conversations, we were reminded by Joni Eareckson Tada of the need to “pray without ceasing” and in every need.

With that in mind, we would ask you to pray for three things this week.

First, let’s continue to pray for Afghanistan – for Voice of the Martyrs and their work there, and for all Christians in that country during this time of crisis. VOM’s two prayer requests are:

I) For the safety, courage, and witness of Christians and their families who are remaining in the country;
II) For the practical need for banks to open and function properly so that needs can be met.

Second, let’s pray specifically for hymns: pray for all the new hymns being written, that the conference would provide us all with fresh songs to enrich our lives, families, and churches. Pray for our project of sharing 30 traditional hymns, that they would help make a significant difference in churches over the next 12 months. And of course, pray for the beauty of singing at the conference. We can’t wait!

Third, let’s pray for the conference sessions taking place Tuesday, September 14. Pray that the restorative power of the gospel would minister to us all as John Lennox, Jeremy Begbie, Trip Lee, and David Platt speak. Pray for the extraordinary musicians who will be serving us with their gifts, and for all those who are organizing these sessions even now. We are aware that so many have suffered or have been caring for and pastoring those who are suffering over the past 18 months. Please pray that Tuesday of the conference would be a healing, encouraging, and strengthening time as we look to Christ, the author and perfecter of our faith.
