Extension cords that put the holes to good use:
This has been something which I have wondered about for a long time so I decided to start digging in and see what I found. After looking through NEMA standards, Underwriters Lab (UL) testing, Wiki articles, and discussion boards I have found 2 reasons why these holes exist. Additionally, I will debunk some of the other reasons I have seen online which I don't believe are valid.
