This is a Motormouth Bros. review of the all-new Honda Passport mid-size 2,-row SUV.
The Passport is powered by a 3.5L V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission, 285 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. This is the first Passport with the second-generation intelligent variable torque management AWD system.
The Passport is more capable and has a more rugged design than the outgoing model. Honda says, the TrailSport model is the most capable SUV the brand has ever offered with increased ground clearance, an off-road tuned suspension, specially developed AT tires and the available Trailwatch camera system.
The Passport is bigger, the wheelbase is 2.75” longer and it has significantly wider tracks, 1.3” in the front and 1.5” in the rear. Second row legroom has increased by 1.3” and it now offers more cargo space.
In Canada, this SUV comes loaded. In the US, not all the following features are standard as there are more trims available. A 10.2” digital driver display, 12.3” touchscreen with Alexa and Google built-in, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a wireless charger,
9-speaker audio system, 10-way power driver’s seat with lumbar support, driver seat memory, 4-way power passenger seat, heated front seats, leatherette and cloth upholstery, heated steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof and a power tailgate. Unfortunately, there is no height adjustment on the passenger seat, a miss from Honda.
In Canada, the TrailSport starts at $60,122 CAD, TrailSport BlackOut $61,322 CAD, TrailSport Touring $63,672 CAD and TrailSport Touring BlackOut $64,872 CAD.
In the US, RTL $44,750 USD, RTL Touring $45,450 USD, RTL BlackOut $45,950 USD, TrailSport $48,450 USD, TrailSport BlackOut $49,650 USD, TrailSport Elite $52,450 USD and TrailSport Elite BlackOut $53,650 USD.
