Make sure to watch till the end cause number one will blow your mind!

10. Berkeley pit

Berkeley pit Butte, Montana. Located in the United States is the world's biggest hole in the world. Despite its fame, it holds a tragic phenomenon due to its toxicity. The Berkeley pit is estimated to be 1600 meters long and 800 meters wide. Its depth runs up to 900 feet! The whole process began in 1955 when it was discovered that copper lay beneath it. The company behind the mining secured as much land as possible just to mine this precious mineral leaving a large hole uncovered.

Over the years, water has accumulated dissolving the toxic copper ores making the water unfit for consumption. The interesting part of it is that hundreds of snow geese succumb to this water too, threatening these birds to extinction!

Coming up next is the Mir mine hole, one of the largest man-made pits in the world. Well, Trucks travel for over an hour just to get to the bottom of the hole.

9. Mir mine

Most of us love wearing jewellery such as necklaces, earrings, rings and also chains. Well, Russia possesses all these mind-blowing minerals that are shaped to anything you like. Mir Mine, also known as Mirny Mine is located in eastern Russia, the Siberian region. It’s calculated to be 525 meters deep and 1,200 meters in diameter. It’s one of the biggest man-made holes in the world! It was dug in the 1950s as Kimberlite was discovered in the area. Even though the site was shut down in 2001, mining continues in the area and it is estimated to produce 5000 pounds of diamond annually.

What’s left now is a huge hole in the tiny town found in Russia. You might not want to take a helicopter to the hole as it will get sucked! Don't be scared, that's mythical.

The fascinating fact about these holes is that most of them aren’t the doing of mother nature but man-made. So sad

8. Diavik Diamond mine

Diavik mine is also among the biggest that exists. It’s man-made and formed due to the extraction of diamond. Diavik mine is located in Lac de Gras, Northwest Territories of Canada. Beneath the waters of Lac de Gras is where these beautiful gems lie. Its appearance is so exquisite from an aerial view as it lies on an island. It's quite interesting that minerals lie even below the land and still man can reach them with all the creativity and knowledge he has. The companies that are responsible for the formation of the hole are Rio Tinto and Dominion Corporation and are set to operate for the next 22 years. Could you imagine this hole has produced over 100 million carats of the diamond since its discovery in 2003?

The hole has four Kimberlite passing beneath it of which three of them have already been exploited. The fourth one is still in the process of exploitation and the process will take up to 2024. The companies responsible for the hole have decided that when they’re through they’ll let water flow back to the hole and restore life to it again. What a responsible company they are. *sarcasm*

7. Darvaza crater

Some places on earth feel diabolical to ever set your feet unless you’re tough as old boots. To the bonfire lovers, here's one spine-chilling hole you'll surely not want to miss. The Darvaza crater, also nicknamed the " gates to hell", is located in the Karakum Desert of central Turkmenistan. A group of Soviet geologists went to the desert to drill as they thought it held a substantial amount of oil. What they found might make you want to pick your jaws up from the floor. They found a pocket full of natural gas which couldn't contain even the weight of their equipment.
