Three years ago, I was driving home from my night shift at the hospital when I got a call that changed everything. My mom had collapsed at home and was being rushed to the emergency room. I raced there, but by the time I arrived, she was gone. Heart attack at 52.

The funeral was a blur, but what haunted me most was that we'd had a huge fight the week before she died. She wanted me to quit my job and move back home to help with my younger brother, but I refused. Our last conversation was me hanging up on her after she called me selfish.

For months, I couldn't sleep. I kept replaying that phone call, wishing I could take back every word. My brother barely spoke to me, and I felt like I'd lost my entire family in one night.

About six months later, I was working another night shift when they brought in a car accident victim. She was unconscious, probably in her early fifties, and had no identification. As I was checking her vitals, I noticed she was wearing the exact same necklace my mom had on when she died. It was this weird vintage piece with a blue stone that she'd inherited from her grandmother.

I thought it was just a coincidence until she woke up and the first thing she said was, "Is my son okay?" Her voice sounded exactly like my mom's. Same accent, same inflection. It gave me chills.

When her family arrived, I learned her name was Linda, and she had two kids. Her older daughter worked at a hospital across town, and her younger son was in college. She'd been driving home from visiting him when the accident happened.

As I was finishing my shift, Linda asked me to stay for a minute. She said I reminded her of her daughter and wanted to thank me for taking such good care of her. Then she grabbed my hand and said something that made my blood run cold.

She said, "You know, I had the strangest dream while I was unconscious. I dreamed I was talking to this young woman who looked just like you, and she kept apologizing for something. She said she was sorry for being selfish and that she loved her family more than anything."

I started crying right there in the hospital room. I told her about my mom and our last fight. Linda listened to everything, then pulled me into a hug and said, "Honey, your mom knows you love her. Sometimes we say things we don't mean when we're scared of losing someone."

We stayed in touch after that night. Linda would text me every few weeks, always checking in like a mom would. She even invited me to her son's graduation, where I met her daughter Sarah.

That's when I discovered the real coincidence. Sarah worked at the same hospital where my mom had died. She was actually one of the nurses who had tried to save her that night. She remembered my mom because of the necklace and how young she was.

But here's the part that still gives me goosebumps. When Sarah showed me the patient records from that night, I saw something I'd never noticed before. My mom had been brought in at 11:47 PM on March 15th. Linda's accident happened at exactly 11:47 PM on September 15th, exactly six months later.

Linda passed away peacefully last month from cancer, but not before she did something incredible. She left me her necklace in her will.

I'm wearing it right now as I write this. Sometimes I swear I can feel both of them watching over me.
