Have you ever wondered how these massive ships navigate through narrow waterways?

The answer lies in careful planning and advanced technology. Take the Panama Canal, for example. In 2016, it underwent a major expansion to accommodate these larger vessels, now known as "New Panamax" ships. The new locks are 1,400 feet long, 180 feet wide, and 60 feet deep, allowing ships carrying up to 14,000 TEUs to pass through.

However, the rise of these mega-ships hasn't been without challenges. In March 2021, the world watched as the Ever Given, a sister ship of the Ever Ace, became stuck in the Suez Canal, blocking this crucial waterway for six days.
