A kind passersby quickly helped him to the side. The old man explained he didn't do it on purpose. Seeing that the old man need the drink more than he does, he gave his to the old man.
The old man didn't waste time, he immediately started gulping it down. He hadn't eaten breakfast. The bun in his hands were just given by a kind street vendor. In fact, most of his food and drinks were given by kind street vendors who pity him. Sometimes he goes up to ask them.
Some people also give him money. When he begs he can get around $10 per day in local currency. A bowl of noodle is around $3. So it's enough to survive on. He also has a 94 year old father at home who needs his care.
While he was rushing to get back the young man gave him the rest of money in his wallet. He can't do more to help the old man but hopes he would still find the money helpful.
Many blind people aren't entirely blind. They can still see a bit. In fact, most blind people can see some lights. So this old man appear to know where to look when the man was talking to him but he is indeed blind, not faking his blindness for free money.
