Concerns are mounting for the safety of Australians in Lebanon as the situation in the Middle East deteriorates.

Israel’s bombing of Lebanon has intensified in recent days, raising concerns for the 15-20,000 Australians still in the country.

The government says they can’t guarantee they’ll be able to repatriate everybody still in Lebanon if the conflict worsens.

This comes as a Royal Australian Air Force flight has arrived in Cyprus and is believed to be on standby to help with repatriation efforts if necessary.
