"On and On” - as sisters who grew up in the 90’s in downtown Atlanta, Erykah Badu was a patron goddess of sorts to our teenage years in the city. Tracks from her 1997 album Baduizm rang all throughout the halls of our highschool and early adulthood years as she set such a beautiful table for natural women to express themselves. She emits abstract art and radical feminism from everything she does, says, sings, or touches and it has deeply inspired us for many years. When doing this album of covers, we wanted to reach back to salute her as one of the most iconic figures in the shaping of our sounds and the early years of Rising Appalachia.
