The 41st Annual Independence Day Celebration in Astoria Park, Queens.Every year, the week before Independence Day, Astoria hosts its own spectacular Fourth of July fireworks display at Astoria Park.
Despite cooler-than-usual temperatures this year, thousands of locals and fellow New Yorkers gathered on the Astoria Park Lawn along Shore Boulevard, nestled between the iconic Hell Gate Bridge and the park’s pool, to enjoy the dazzling 20-minute show.
The community celebration continues to draw crowds who prefer this intimate neighborhood spectacle to the larger citywide Macy’s festivities.
