R&B lead and background vocalist Audrey Wheeler. Having first established herself in the early 1980s as part of a Crown Heights Affair protege act, called Unlimited Touch, she also starred on Jeff Lorber’s hit “Step by Step” and went on to shine on hundreds of other popular artists’ recordings. Here she talks about the start of her 30 years backing up the legendary Chaka Khan.
