Nationals Deputy Leader Kevin Hogan discusses the Coalition’s defence spending target, emphasising the importance of the AUKUS alliance.

“We took to the last election … a commitment that we’d increase defence spending to GDP by 2.5 per cent in the next five years and 3 per cent over the next ten years,” Mr Hogan said.

“The important thing we need to tell the Americans and remind the Americans is we are making a huge commitment through AUKUS of buying infrastructure from them.”
