ROTW Mix: AJ/Jorja Grime leads to Dirty South & samples

This week's Record of the Week is a Grime / R&B joint from the UK. With a beat that propels energy forward featuring a catchy hyper-sped-up Brandy vocal sample, AJ Tracey and Jorja Smith trade verses rappin' about crushin' on each other, while Jorja smoothly delivers the chorus. All of these elements equally contribute to an exciting tune that has "reload" written all over it.

I put it in the mix last week -- played next to some Grime-y treats from my friend Freeza Chin [check his Patreon {) for some great remixes and original production]. Then things hopped back over to the pond to the Dirty South, throwing in some classic UGK & 3-6 Mafia to halve the speed but keep the energy up. Matched it with some of their sampled material from Marvin Gaye & Willie Hutch, and you have a nice 30-minute chunk of stream that I felt as worth sharing here on YouTube.
