This drawing is made up solely of many micro dots. The only issue I have with this method is that subtle changes are difficult for me, so shading and misty effects are changed from my source material. I don’t have my reference sample in the video to compare it with but it is a small paint swirl/splatter in black and white that created the images in this drawing. They didn’t originate with me although of course there is a lot of room for interpretation.
As always, I don’t see many of the characters or faces or relations of things until they are already drawn and I notice them later. Since I’m not the source of the material I technically have no idea what I’m drawing until it appears when I’m done. And since the imagery is ephemeral it is also constantly changing and becoming other things. Like a Rorschach test.
So some of the things I see are a cave/cavern in the center roughly in the shape of an open faced heart. At the bottom are fern like plants growing, there are balls and a creature on the left that remind me of garlic bulbs and also amoebas under a microscope. At the bottom it kind of reminds me of branches on snow or veins on skin. There are other odd things in the mix but I like how the background on the upper right turned out in transparent but overlapping shapes.
The music for this was made by James Short a talented artist, designer and musician. His songs are free to download from Soundcloud under bendigai. Below is the link to that.
