This cover of a cover of a cover by Wolfpyre was originally written in the 1920s by an Appalachian Baptist preacher named Lloyd Chandler which was said to be based on an older version sung by "Eastern North Carolina Negroes" in the early 1900s; however, some believe its true origins date back as far as the 14th century. This version of the song features a dialogue between "Death" and the "Sinner" with a brief vocal appearance by Kate Bosch. (audio only)
