Today, Motorola unveiled the Edge 50 Neo to the world and also announced the global rollout of the Edge 50. Let's look at the newcomer first.
The Motorola Edge 50 Neo is a compact and interestingly designed phone, but it still shares the Edge 50's IP68 water and dust rating, as well as its MIL-STD 810H certification.
At just 154.1mm tall, 71.2mm wide, and 8.1mm thin, it's a compact phone and weighs just 171g. At the front it has a 6.4" 120Hz FHD+ OLED LTPO display with up to 3,000 nits of brightness. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
Unlike the Edge 50, which offers both vegan leather and vegan suede finishes, the Edge 50 neo is available only in vegan leather with a soft texture. The phone comes in an eye-catching selection of colors.
The Motorola Edge 50 Neo features a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 with 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM and packs either 256 GB or 512 GB of storage.
The power is drawn from a 4,310mAh battery with 68W TurboPower wired and 15W wireless charging support. The 68W adapter comes in the box in some markets, all phones get a color-matched protective case!
The Motorola Edge 50 neo has a 50 MP main camera with 1/1.56-inch type Sony LYTIA 700C sensor, a 13 MP ultrawide camera with PDAF, and a 10 MP 3x telephoto zoom. Upfront is a 32 MP selfie shooter with fixed focus.
Motorola uses its own moto ai image processing, which it says works on all cameras and on uncompressed image data to bring out the best image possible. Interestingly, moto ai also tunes the video quality.
A word on the Motorola Edge 50, which was unveiled for India and Mexico earlier this month. It's now making its global debut.
