Rhythm Level 2 play along to secure understanding of rhythm in music.
Crotchet, crotchet rest, quavers and minims.

Method:
L1 Say - "tree" for crotchets and "shh" for rests, "woodland" for quavers, "le-af" for minims.
L2 Say and Play (Clap or Tap or use instruments)
L3 Play (Clap or Tap or use instruments) Say rhythm using thinking voices if necessary.

Long durations can be tricky to attach a word to without it becoming two separate syllables. Use long vowel words to help. For example "leaf" can be elongated to sound longer than one beat without it sounding like two strong syllables which would sound like a pair of quavers.

Suitable for KS1, KS2 and beyond to secure synchronicity to music with the beat of the track.

Extra Challenge: Ask the students to come up with their own sound words and actions for the symbols.
Go to playback speed and try at 0.5 or 1.25 for different tempo challenges.
