It was the slap heard all around the globe. During 94th Academy Awards Chris Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's shaved head, which did not appear to go over well with her husband Will Smith.
While presenting the award for best documentary, Rock joked, "Jada I love you, 'G.I. Jane 2,' can't wait to see it."
The camera cut to Pinkett Smith, who rolled her eyes before her husband Will hit the stage and smacked Rock in the face.
Many in the Oscars audience appeared stunned at the altercation, but it seems Smith was defending his wife’s honor. Pinkett Smith has been open about her struggle with alopecia, an autoimmune disorder that leads to hair loss and even spoke about it on her Facebook Watch show, "Red Table Talk."
Following his altercation with Rock, Denzel Washington and Tyler Perry could be seen talking to Smith trying to calm him down.
Rock has reportedly declined to file a police report following the incident.
