Rafael del Pino, chairman of Ferrovial, has been named Business Leader of the Year in the first edition of the Líder awards granted by La Información newspaper.The Líder awards are granted to businesspeople and entrepreneurs who have established themselves as role models due both to wealth and job creation and to innovation, market opening and business development.
The award was presented by Spain's Minister of Infrastructure, José Luis Ábalos, and the Minister of Economy and Business, Nadia Calviño. Other dignitaries in attendance included Pedro Duque, Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities, and Pedro Rollán, Vice-President of the Madrid Regional Government.
The Innovation award went to Gonzalo Martín Villa, Head of Innovation at Telefónica. Javier Jiménez Marco, General Manager of Lanzadera, received the Líder award for Business Initiative
