Ganosamhati brought out the procession in protest against the uncontrolled rise in prices of daily essentials and government inaction against hoarders and market manipulators.
The party leaders claimed that at least 15 party activists were wounded when police officers used batons to disperse the protesters trying to move forward dismantling a police barricade.
The party leaders and activists later staged demonstration on the road where the party chief coordinator Zonayed Saki said that they would wage greater movement with other opposition political parties to compel the government to take steps to reduce the prices of daily essentials and refrain from increasing power, gas and water prices further.
Saki also said that his party along with other political parties would go for hartal, if necessary, to compel the government to take steps to reduce the prices of daily essentials.
