After his alcoholism leads to a fatal accident, rodeo clown Cotter returns to his hometown. Cotter would like to pass the time simply reconnecting with his buddy, Roy, but, with a local landowner dead before his time, some townspeople start to think heavy-drinking Cotter is a killer.
