Hardware Jams Secret Santa for, Noggin 86.Noggin’s sound palette feels very influenced by 90s hardcore, techno and jungle, so I sampled elements from several of his YouTube tracks and made a jam with this flavour. Except from one of the breaks, all samples are a mashup of his tunes. Champion Sound!
My daughter and I had a bit of fun on the mic. The ‘Noggin’ sample is her, which has then been rearranged and played across the keys.
Synths used; Sequential Pro 3 on bass, and Arturia MicroFreak (through Microcosm)
Visuals were created in Visual Synthesiser on the iPad. Definitely something I'll be exploring in more depth.
Trivia; The main 'Champion Sound' sample (pad) is taken from Noggin's Secret Santa jam 2022, which was for Andrew Coogan (Founder of Hardware Jams).
