STORYLINE:
Mexico City was awash in color and celebration as thousands took to the streets as part of the annual Pride parade on Saturday.
Under the slogan “Diversity without Borders, Justice, Resistance, and Unity,” people from all walks of life filled the streets.
Families, students, migrants, and activists came together to honor and demand recognition for sexual and gender diversity.
Among them was Daniel Ramírez, who traveled from Tlaxcala to take part in his first Pride march in the capital.
"I think it's very nice that there have been spaces for us for years, but that there are increasingly more of them and that over time people see it more as normal, as it should be, because we are not strange, not weird, we are simply people," said Ramírez.
