It wasn't so much about what she said, but about how she said "must be nice to have a trust fund" (which was not true, and extra wrong when she knew our pain of losing Hud's dad. I understand how people who don't know our whole story might assume that - but the tone she said it in, face to face, seemed intentionally hurtful. And anyone who has been following along on our journey knows that if we had more money, we wouldn't be choosing to sleep in the places we did - and we definitely would have upgraded our transportation! 😜)
But now sometimes I think back to that day and smile. I don't often give "inspirational" talks in my posts and this may be a little cheesy but maybe this can encourage someone...
If you have a dream, don't let anyone's opinion stop you from pursuing it. Obviously you shouldn't just go out and quit your job tomorrow, but create an intentional plan for your dream and start taking small steps toward it.
It's not going to be easy, it'll probably take more work than you think, and people might not always understand. Sometimes you might not even understand. But if you feel like it's what you're supposed to do, and are willing to make the sacrifices to achieve that goal, keep pursuing those small steps to make it happen. You might look back some day and be grateful for where it leads you ♥️
