⚪ THE GOSPEL:
So the gospel – or good news – of the Bible is that even though we all perpetuate chaos into the world (Genesis 3:18) and continually fall short of God’s standards (Romans 3:23), those who believe that Jesus is God are forgiven for the mess we have made (John 3:16). We are forgiven because Jesus of Nazareth – God in the flesh – died in our place (Romans 5:8) and His sinlessness is then mapped onto us (Colossians 3:3). Which allows us to pray to God, it allows us to recognize when we’re falling short of His standards and correct course, and it allows us to live with purpose. Also, because we have spun so much chaos out into the world – destroying other people’s lives, relationships, lying, stealing, etc. – we can see that this forgiveness is a big deal (Luke 7:47). This means that we can finally see rightly how worthy God is, and thus have the opportunity to offer up to Him what little obedience we can muster. Moreover, those that believe Jesus is God put our hope and assurance in the fact that we are seen, known, and raised to new life – and will be seen, known, and raised to new life in what the Bible calls a, "new creation." A space in which sin doesn't exist, and God reigns as King. (Romans 6).
– And no, that doesn't even cover a FRACTION of it. 🚀
