Big Maybelle's career spanned the 1950's and 1960's mostly recording for the Okeh, Savoy and Rojac labels. One of her last recordings was written by Fred Briggs and Jack Taylor titled, Don't Pass Me By, and released in 1969 on the Chess Records label. She died in 1972 in a diabectic coma.
