Did you know that there's a type of elevator that never stops and has no doors or buttons? It's called a paternoster elevator and was designed in early 20th-century Europe. These elevators move continuously, like a rotating chain. Passengers simply step in or out as the elevator passes by. Although practical, the design was risky if passengers did not step in or out correctly, so many were closed for safety reasons.
