Authorities in Bangladesh have implemented heavy security measures to prevent further political violence following clashes between security forces and supporters of deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The violence, which resulted in four deaths and more than 50 injuries, occurred as the National Citizen Party, formed by students who led the unrest that ousted Hasina last year, planned a rally in Faridpur. Hundreds of police were deployed on Thursday to prevent the event from escalating further.
