Shocking animal experiment: Cats' skulls cracked open and electrodes inserted into brains

Scientists at University College London (UCL) have been criticized for conducting neuroscience experiments on cats using cruel methods before they were killed.

The academic papers published last year showed that researchers at UCL carried out two rounds of tests on cats, much focus on the cat's eyes, as there are genetic similarities with humans.

In the experiments, scientists removed the skulls of cats before inserting electrodes and stimulating probes into their brains to find out what they saw from their eyes.

Researchers claimed that the test results were vital for understanding medical treatments.

All of the cats involved were murdered.
