Mediative ambient improvisation. The cosmos and the RC505mk2 are maybe a little overkill on the looping side, but I love loopers and they give a lot of flexibility for capturing things on the fly and mixing stuff up. It’s almost like having a simplified and much more immediate/hands on Octatrack.
The RC505 does a great job of capturing the loops - all free running and unsynced so they weave in and out of each other, and the faders allow for easy on the fly mixing across the 5 tracks. The Soma Cosmos does the weird stuff, allowing me to make some glitchy, moving and evolving loops which I can then grab with the 505 and start again-the process soon lets you build a really complex sonic tapestry of sound.
Sounds sources are the wonderful Solar 42f and the incredibly versatile and great sounding Ableton Move.
