First up, DJI is suing the DOD for what it claims are multiple violations of Administrative Procedures act and a 5th Amendment Violation.
The law suit claims that DJI was incorrectly classified as a Chinese Military Company and added to the DOD’s CMC List, which resulted in terminated contracts, reluctance from clients to enter into new agreements, a tarnished reputation and exclusion from contracting opportunities.
DJI is seeking monetary compensation for the cost of the suit, removal from the DOD’s CMC list, and stopping all elements of the DOD from taking action based on the CMC list designation.
We’ve got a full video on the lawsuit coming out soon, so stay tuned for a more in-depth discussion.

Next up, A CNN Drone crashed into a crowd causing multiple injuries.
Specifics are unclear, with DroneXL reporting the one person suffered multiple lacerations on their fingers, one person was hit in the head, and a third person had to be transported via stretcher from the scene.
No word on what drone was being flown, but it reportedly struck a light pole while attempting to navigate between trees.
After striking the light pole the drone then fell into the crowd.
We’ll keep you updated as we see more about this.

Last up, BRINC has released the Guardian for Public Safety!
The Guardian comes with a 42 minute flight time, obstacle avoidance, 40X hybrid zoom, 640 Thermal, night vision, 4G compatibility, 2-way audio communications, built in emergency lights and siren, built in loud speaker, geofencing capabilities, integrated RADAR, and ADS-B IN.
While released now, the drone doesn’t appear to be for sale just yet, with deliveries beginning in Mid-2025.
Hopefully we’ll get a chance to test one out and share our thoughts!

That’s all for this week, we’ll see you later in the community for Happy Hour and on Monday for our Q&A!
